Shark unplugged.
How a considered-purchase appliance range holds its price point on a platform built for impulse.
This edition is being written now. Nothing is published yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise or invent a launch date. Here is exactly what it will contain, and the waitlist that tells you the day it lands.
One email when the Shark edition publishes. That is the whole commitment.

five chapters, no filler.
Every Brands Unplugged edition is cut the same way, so the Shark edition will read against the rest of the series rather than in isolation.
shop performance mix
Where the revenue actually comes from: affiliate, self-operated LIVE, shop-front, ads. The mix is the diagnosis — it tells you which levers the brand owns and which it is renting.
top content & hooks
The formats and opening seconds doing the selling. Which hooks repeat, which are one-offs, and what the pattern says about who the shop is actually talking to.
affiliate strategy & commission
How the creator base is built, tiered and paid. Commission structure, sample strategy, who the repeat sellers are, and whether the programme compounds or churns.
product & bundle performance
Which SKUs carry volume, which carry the basket, and how bundling is being used to move average order value instead of discounting it away.
what to copy
The chapter that earns the read: what is genuinely transferable to your shop, what only works at their scale, and what we would do differently.
what we are looking for.
These are the questions we go in with. The edition answers them from the data, or says plainly that the data does not answer them.
why this category is worth the edition.
Appliances are demo-native — the format was built for them. The commercial question is not whether the demo lands, it is what happens after it: attachment, accessories, bundle architecture and whether a considered-purchase price point can survive without permanent discounting.
High-ticket appliances are the hardest thing to sell on a feed and the most rewarding to get right. This edition reads how the shop bridges that gap.
read the one that is already out.
medicube unplugged
The no.1 shop on UK TikTok Shop, taken apart with public market data: £6.29m in 30 days, 98.64% of it affiliate-driven, 1.17% self-operated, and what closing that gap is worth per month. Same five chapters this edition will use.
how this is built.
Method. Every edition is built outside-in from public market data — the same TikTok Shop market analytics any seller can buy — plus the operating judgement of a team that runs LIVE, affiliate, content and paid on the platform every day. We read the shop the way we would read a prospective client's shop, and we publish the read.
Independence. Brands Unplugged is independent commentary. No brand covered has any say over what is written, and coverage is not endorsement in either direction. Most of the brands in the series are third parties Somerce has no commercial relationship with. Three are not — P.Louise, Edikted and L'Oréal Groupe — and those editions disclose it at the top and link the work already published on this site. Figures, where quoted, come from a stated public data window and move over time.
Status. This edition is in production. No figures about Shark are published on this page, because none have been analysed and signed off yet. When they are, they arrive with their data window and source attached.
