the challenge
Silentnight is one of the UK's best-known sleep brands, but a launch on TikTok Shop is still a cold start: no shop history on the platform, no proven creative, no live-selling track record. The brief was to take the full TikTok Shop toolkit, live-selling, an optimised shop and a launch built for the platform's audience, and turn a heritage brand into a channel that could hold its own against newer, TikTok-native competitors from day one.
A launch like this lives or dies on its first weekend. Early trading sets the trajectory the algorithm, the affiliates and the audience all read off, so the plan had to work at full intensity from the moment the shop went live, not ease in gradually.
the approach
We ran the launch as a full TikTok Shop management engine, with TikTok LIVE as the centrepiece. The shop itself was built and optimised ahead of launch, listings, offers and pricing set to convert cold TikTok traffic, so every visitor the launch drove had a shop worth landing on.
Live-selling carried the weight of the weekend. Broadcasts were staged to put the product in front of viewers in context, presenters trained on Silentnight's range talking through the comfort and construction that justify the price, not just reading out a discount. That is the difference between a live stream that clears stock once and one that builds a following that comes back.
Behind the LIVE sat the same trading discipline we run for every shop-operations client: stock, pricing and the offer calendar managed day to day, so the commercial side of the launch never lagged behind the content driving people to it.
the results
The launch weekend delivered 100% more traffic to the Silentnight shop, and the Saturday after launch was the brand's highest sales day of the year, bar Black Friday. Followers and impressions across Silentnight's social accounts grew quickly too, early signs of a halo effect that reaches beyond the shop itself.
Since our full TikTok Shop launch for Silentnight on Friday, traffic to site is up 100% and Saturday delivered our highest sales day of the year, bar Black Friday. Followers and impressions across all socials have grown fast too, early signs of a strong halo effect.
— the Silentnight team
That halo effect is the real signal. A single strong weekend can be bought with discounting. A weekend that also lifts followers and impressions across every social channel means the content itself did the work, and it is why the daily LIVE engine that followed launch weekend has kept building on the same audience.
